Heron Rodriguez is a Vascular Surgeon at Northwestern University in Chicago, Illinois. He is a graduate of the Universidad Popular Autonoma in Puebla, Mexico and earned board certifications in General Surgery and Vascular Surgery after completing residencies at Columbus Hospital (2001) and Northwestern University (2002), respectively.

Dr. Rodriguez is currently a Professor of Surgery and Radiology at Feinberg School of Medicine and is Program Director for the Vascular Surgery Residency. He practices vascular surgery in Chicago and has developed an extensive academic career nationally and internationally. Dr. Rodriguez has published over 150 manuscripts and chapters, edited several books and directed multiple courses in the US, Spain and Latin America. He is a Distinguished Fellow of the Society for Vascular Surgery, serves in several editorial boards for several vascular journals and is Associate Editor of Annals of Vascular Surgery, President elect of Cirujanos Vasculares de Habla Hispana and an active member of multiple international Vascular Surgery societies.

Dr. Rodriguez has been a mentor to many generations of Vascular Surgeons in the US and Latin America. His current areas of interest include surgical education, the development of leadership skills for young surgeons and international collaboration. He is also a founding member of the board of Directors of Altus Academy in Chicago, a College Preparatory School in the city of Chicago serving underrepresented minorities.
