Dr Michael Daly

Visiting Professor, Faculty Fellowship in Medical Humanities, Stanford University School of Medicine, Consultant Cardiologist, Connolly Hospital Blanchardstown

Dr Michael Daly is an academic and non-invasive cardiologist whose interests include multimodality cardiovascular imaging, electrocardiography, and healthcare education. In addition to international accreditation in both echocardiography and cardiac CT, Dr Daly also holds an MA in Creative Writing focusing on drama, an MD in Medical Education with Simulation, and a PhD in Cardiology. In 2022, he was named ‘Most Innovative Teacher of the Year’ at the Times Higher Education Awards in London, UK for his post-doctoral work that improved clinical acumen in cardiology through whole-task hybrid simulation.

In 2023, he was awarded both a Fulbright Scholarship to Stanford University in California, USA to explore how dramatic principles might augment simulated clinical experiences, and the Silver Award in the ‘Breakthrough Technology Innovation’ category at the QS Reimagine Education Awards in Abu Dhabi, UAE. Dr Daly is an elected Fellow of both the Royal College of Physicians in London and the American College of Cardiology.
