Stephen is the current Associate Director of Innovations Technology Development at Cleveland Clinic since May 2022. With over 2.5 years at Cleveland Clinic, he has extensive experience in healthcare technology innovation. He served as Manager of Analytical Development and Senior Scientist at Athersys leading projects in analytical, assay, and process development. Prior to that he was Senior Scientist at Abbott, focusing on the design and validation of molecular diagnostic assays.

Stephen began his career in molecular pathology at Cleveland Clinic as a Senior Research Technologist, working on diagnostic test optimization and process improvement. He received a Master of Science in Biotechnology from University of Galway and a Bachelor of Science in Plant & Microbial Biotechnology from University College Cork.
