
Prof. Gavin Blake
Professor Gavin Blake is the clinical lead for Cardiology at the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital and Clinical Professor of Medicine at UCD. He graduated from RSCI with a first-class honours degree and trained initially in Beaumont and the Mater before spending 6 years in Boston at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital. He was a clinical fellow (under the guidance of Dr Pat T O’Gara) and an interventional and research fellow prior to taking up a faculty position at the Brigham. He holds a Masters in Public Health degree from Harvard University and a research Masters in physiology from Oxford University. He was an Irish junior international tennis player and an Oxford Tennis Blue.
His research interests include novel risk factors for coronary artery disease, inflammation in atherosclerosis, and outcomes following coronary interventions.
