Dr Yvonne Curran
I am a graduate of The Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (class of 1988). I am a Vascular Neurologist at Northwestern University and the Medical Director for the Stroke Program at St. Anthony’s Hospital, a Chicago safety-net hospital serving people from health disparities populations. I have been practicing neurology for over 30 years and committed to neurologic justice. I am a strong advocate for health equity as a founding member Northwestern Neurology’s Health Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Committee. I led the opening of Northwestern’s Community Health Clinic, a free clinic serving the un-insured population in Chicago. I completed Northwestern’s Scholars of Wellness program in 2019. I am the co-chair of the physician wellness committee in the Department of Neurology. I am a passionate advocate of physician wellness. I believe we have to continue to focus on wellness in order to continue to be effective advocates for our patients.
