Andrew W.Hoel

Associate Professor of Surgery, Northwestern University

Andrew W. Hoel, M.D. is a board-certified vascular surgeon and Associate Professor of Surgery at the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. He is the medical director of the Aortic Disease Program in the Division of Vascular Surgery and the Director of Outcomes and Quality Improvement for Vascular Surgery. Dr. Hoel has a busy clinical practice focused on the comprehensive care of acute and chronic aortic disease. He has an active research enterprise focused on technology innovation, reducing procedure risk, and optimizing communication/education for patients with aortic and other vascular diseases. In addition to caring for patients, his greatest satisfaction comes from teaching and mentoring trainees and early-career faculty. Dr. Hoel attended Mayo Medical School (Rochester, MN), completed a residency in general surgery at Brigham and Women’s Hospital (Boston, MA) and a fellowship in vascular surgery at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center (Lebanon, NH).
